Life Insurance

What Type…Short Term or Long Term?

What’s the difference…?

How Much…??

There are only two ways to
provide for your family’s income

1. You at work
2. Your Money at work

So... How much do they need?

If you die, or become disabled your family needs
enough cash to replace your income.

On average, a person needs 7-10 times their annual income
to maintain the current family lifestyle

Maximize Your Pension Income

Most retiree’s at time of retirement choose a reduced pension so that their spouse will continue to receive ”income” from the pension after their death.

Very few consider the ”cost” of this choice or even that there is a cost. By choosing the reduced income they have a lower income for the rest of their lives, even if their spouse dies first. This choice also disinherits the children.

Most of these same individuals have had life or mortgage insurance through their working years. Insurance that was to provide an ”income” to their spouse and family if they died prematurely.

If only this same insurance could have lasted through their retirement! Then they could have taken the higher income from their pension with the peace of mind that their spouse could convert the TAX FREE life insurance proceeds into an ”income” that would also continue to the children.

RRSP

If you don’t have Empire Life’s Segregated Funds in your RRSP portfolio, you should consider it.

Why? They are the only Segregated Fund Family to make it into the Top 10 Globe & Mail’s list of 10 year performance, out of over 4000 Mutual Funds, for the past three years in a row.

What’s a Segregated Fund? A mutual fund with guarantees on deposits, creditor protection, and ability to bypass probate & lawyer fees at death.

Something new: Now you can choose a mix of the various funds to match your particular risk tolerance.
